MJDK – «Hymn»

Cat.# … DNA 180
Release Date … 02.03.2016
Genre … Illbient, Dark Ambient, Industrial
Type … mp3 CBR 320 kbps

After a string of dark ambient works Polish project MJDK turns to something off-the-wall, crazy and eccentric. His «Hymn» looks eclectic enough in the combination of dark ambient canvases behind distorted electronic sounds with prolonged speeches and Scorn-like illbient loops. And the core of the work, more-than-fifteen-minutes Coil-inspired escapist track adds more diversity to this weird and somewhat unreal work.

«The song «Hymn» (Anthmen in Polish) is inspired by the French movie «La prochaine fois je viserai le coeur» (2014).
I love Phallus Dei music and courtesy of Mr. Oliver St. Lingam I could record a remix of the song «Will You Come Now».
«Filokles & Lykofron» is a tribute to the incredible project Coil. At all costs, I decided to record something in their style.
The song «London» was recorded during my stay in the capital of the United Kingdom.
«Inception» is a veritable frenzy with a speech of one of my philosophical guru Alan Watts.»

— Mateusz Jędrzejczak (MJDK)

«Will You Come Now (Phallus Dei)» by John Walker/Phallus Dei, remixed by MJDK.
«Inception», voice by Alan Watts.

Cédric Elisabeth – «Timeless»

Cat.# … DNA 179
Release Date … 08.02.2016
Genre … Ambient, Soundscape, Experimental
Type … FLAC Lossless

Variable melodies suddenly appear from nowhere and pierce supple soundscapes and noise layers. Later they slowly dissolve in the soundscapes to give birth to new consonances… Sonic illusions, deceptive images behind tangibly embossed human voices and vibrating strings tones. Awakening out of time, waiting and sound detection in the space around. Slow discovering nearest places, perception persistence accumulation, gradual incapsulation in own consciousness, fading activities, introspection, falling asleep…

This four-track work is fully builded on various combinations of sounds, noises, drones, melodies and spirits. It provokes associations, it consists of associations, it draws sonic pictures and impels listener to paint them with colors depending on his imagination.

Cover by Adam Ryde.

Tracklisting:

  1. Cédric Elisabeth – Gravity (08:12)
  2. Cédric Elisabeth – Horizon (11:13)
  3. Cédric Elisabeth – Sound Of Paris (06:08)

Berthelot – «Les trous noirs de l’espace sémantique»

Cat.# … DNA 178
Release Date … 02.02.2016
Genre … Electroacoustic, Post-Concrete
Type … FLAC Lossless

Black holes of the semantic space (les trous noirs de l’espace sémantique) are related to the dialogues of the deaf, a common activity on this strange planet.

In this album, the sounds come and go, hesitate, disappear and then they reappear more far in time. They are trying to avoid, but also they are scrambling to finally get lost in space, without even trying to harmonize.

These chaotic soundscapes act as a reflection of our society of hyper-communication in which the informations, the messages, all the words, and all the data get lost anywhere.

Nobody try to understand and everything always ends in a great dialogue of the deaf, each arguing for oneself, and ultimately the knowledge is lost in the black holes of the semantic space.

Tracks 1 to 7 recorded in November and December 2015; music by Berthelot.
Track 8 recorded in January 2016; music by Berthelot & Launay.

Cover by Hieronymus Bosch, «The Hell and the Flood» (detail).
Photos by Ironside. Sleeve design by Berthelot & Graph’Hypnotic.

Paul Minesweeper – «Kingdom Of Grey»

Cat.# … DNA 176
Release Date … 21.07.2015
Genre … Drone Ambient
Type … FLAC Lossless

In his «Kingdom Of Grey» Paul dedicates its stream to Saint-Petersburg and life in its general sense – both are monochrome – white and black events, from time to time.

Solid and soft drone collaborates with low-frequency self-consistent foundation, which is very close to common music in its origin.

Without focusing on events, it stays endlessly grey – pure balance of happiness and sufferings. But at the same time any person can find something private in this stream.

There’s no place for deep meaning and the whole work is done for listeners, their reflective minds and exploration by themselves.

Tracklisting:

  1. Paul Minesweeper – The Sands Of Time (05:32)
  2. Paul Minesweeper – Sky Train (Magenta Fields Pt.II) (09:57)
  3. Paul Minesweeper – Winter Takes It All (06:35)
  4. Paul Minesweeper – Kingdom Of Grey (09:13)
  5. Paul Minesweeper – White Night (09:24)
  6. Paul Minesweeper and Astral & Shit – State Of Grey Dust (11:58)

Igl00 & lost-radio – «Untitled Scenes IV»

Cat.# … DNA 175
Release Date … 09.06.2015
Genre … Drone
Type … FLAC Lossless

After a half of a year Igl00 and his collaborator lost-radio continue «Untitled Scenes» series with new work called simply “Untitled Scenes IV”. New work is as short as previous «Untitled Scenes III» and there are some similarities between them. Differences are spotted though but they look like logical development of ideas presented in the previous works.

Igl00’s part remains on the side of minimalism and isolationism wrapped in a veil of unostentatious hum. Two tracks are made in the usual Igl00 manner, this time maybe more chamber-like: less space and details, more transparency and concentrating on main lines of music development.

lost-radio’s part is more diversified. «Scene XII» looks like dense and complex track made in the style very close to drone ambient. On the contrary, «Scene XIV» is much closer to Igl00’s tracks in sound and atmosphere. Here is a lot of noise, the same minimalistic approach and similar isolationist disposition.

Tracklisting:

  1. Igl00 – Scene XI (07:36)
  2. lost-radio – Scene XII (08:11)
  3. Igl00 – Scene XIII (07:02)
  4. lost-radio – Scene XIV (07:13)
