Kirill Paltonkin comes from Russian Far Eastern town Blagoveshchensk which is located in the point of confluence of two rivers – Amur And Zeya. He was born in 1986 and began making music in 2002.
Firstly, the project was centered in the field of psychedelic rock, as Pink Floyd was and remains now author’s most favourite band. He listened to their music since he was 4 years old.
Also Kirill Platonkin was a part of a thrash metal group a short while but soon he left it and has began to compose music by itself. The first works were released at Ukranian netlabel Umpako under a nickname «Platon» and later under the name of «GhostSonic». Project «Platon» was in psychedelic/avantgarde style while «GhostSonic» became Kirill’s first step towards drone ambient.
Later Kirill Paltonkin decided to forget about nicknames and started to perform under his birth name. There were also releases on various labels such as Sinewaves, RUSZUD, Circlesandlines Recordings, Dark Winter, Treetrunk Records.
Furthermore Kirill took a chance to create his own label «Tukuringra», and by now there are two releases on it.
As for making the music, he usually uses field recordings, guitar, flutes, some ethnic instruments (by the way, he’s collecting musical instruments, that’s like an accompanying hobby). Also Kirill is always in search of some kind of side effects of the sounding items.
