Profile

DNA Production is a non-profit digital label dedicated to promoting new industrial artists on the Internet. The label releases albums in digital formats for free download and further non-profit distribution.

DNA simply stands for Drone.Noise.Ambient - these are fields where label's activities take place.
I invite young unknown artists for cooperation and is waiting for their demo recordings. All other interested artists are welcome too.

DNA Production was ran as .NBK Records sub-label but since .NBK Records closure DNA Production had become independent. I keep .NBK Records releases online for all people who were supporting us and were listening to it and who could be interested in it.

DNA Production team is very small: me, drohnenton aka dh and Knell (Raspad Atoma mastermind) who is promoting label in myspace.com, searching for new ambient talents, periodically mastering sound materials and kindly helps me with releases' preparation.

Also I would like to thank Seclorum aka SCM for his help in label resurrection in May-September 2008.
He was the man who ran the label and supported me in my desire to manage DNA Production.

History

DNA Production has been started in December 2007 as .NBK Records sublabel. At that time .NBK Records team piled up a lot of dark ambient and noise materials that could not be released on .NBK Records. Then label boss Seclorum decided to create the sublabel called DNA Production for releasing accumulated materials and for preserving .NBK Records style balance.

New sublabel had simplified rules of albums releasing: less graphics and only mp3 CBR 320 kbps as release format. It all helped to speed up release processes. Consequently it resulted in releasing twenty high quality ambient and noise albums and this work has been done in four months.

Most DNA Production artists were contributors of .NBK Records samplers or had solo releases on .NBK Records or were members of Noisebunker community which was the cradle of .NBK Records. But Seclorum has made an effort to get new artists involved in label's activity. There are many interesting industrial acts and Siegmar Fricke is the most noted artist among others.

In a year after .NBK Records creation Seclorum and a core of label artists decided to concentrate on their new labels united in Alter-X Promotion Project. Then .NBK Records mission was declared completed and the label was closed.

DNA Production was closed too as well as parent label. But later drohnenton, a former .NBK Records member, decided to continue DNA Production project. The label was reanimated and became independent in May 2008.

At that time Seclorum helped drohnenton to renew label activities and handed him all released albums and a lot of unreleased materials.
Later drohnenton get a boost from Knell, DNA Production artist known as Raspad Atoma. Knell started PR compaign on myspace.com and contacted with good ambient artists who agreed to collaborate with DNA Production.
