In Lab of Errors, annex of the French University of Errors, we study the science of that which is superinduced upon metaphysics, whether within or beyond the latter’s limitations, extending as far beyond metaphysics as the latter extends beyond physics.

We will examine the laws governing exceptions of errors, and will explain mistakes of the universe supplementary to this one.

Lab of Errors does not, therefore, study the rules governing the general recurrence of a periodic mistake (the expected case) so much as study the games governing the special occurrence of a sporadic error (the excepted case).

Second volume of the Reaktor Sessions (first volume here), Lab of Errors is made with faulty virtual generators, and real synthesizers heavily modified by circuit-bending.

Variable melodies suddenly appear from nowhere and pierce supple soundscapes and noise layers. Later they slowly dissolve in the soundscapes to give birth to new consonances… Sonic illusions, deceptive images behind tangibly embossed human voices and vibrating strings tones. Awakening out of time, waiting and sound detection in the space around. Slow discovering nearest places, perception persistence accumulation, gradual incapsulation in own consciousness, fading activities, introspection, falling asleep…

This four-track work is fully builded on various combinations of sounds, noises, drones, melodies and spirits. It provokes associations, it consists of associations, it draws sonic pictures and impels listener to paint them with colors depending on his imagination.

Tremendous soundscapes hide between folds of subconsciousness. See through closed eyes in the dark vast depths. Do you wonder whose slack breathing you hear?

Knocks, cracklings, noises. Vibrations, pulses, sound scraps. Find yourself locked in small dark room with something strange stirring behind the door and a second later, soar over clouds of low-frequency drones endeavouring to discern what does lay beneath. And what the first word appeared in your mind on the edge of awakening?

berdetovka, one word for three prolonged dreams’ soundtracks. Put your headphones on and wander the track of your fantasy.
